Spread the Net’s Student Challenge is underway

Students across Canada have played a large role in the global effort to end malaria. Last year alone, the Student Challenge raised $104,263.44 or enough funds to provide 10,426 bed nets to families living in Africa. Top fundraising schools appeared on The Rick Mercer Report.

On September 7, 2008 the Honourable Belinda Stronach and Peter Chernin, Co-founder of Malaria No More, hosted Malaria No More Canada’s inaugural event, Golf Rocks at Magna Golf Course and Clubhouse in Aurora, ON.

The evening featured golfers, celebrity guests and performances by Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah. Thirteen-time Grammy Award winner, David Foster, served as the event’s musical producer.
