World Malaria Day 2012- "Sustain Gains, Save Lives: Invest in Malaria"

Wednesday April 25^th 2012 is World Malaria Day. World Malaria Day was established by the World Health Organization in 2007 as a day for all citizens to remember their responsibility to save lives from malaria. This international day helps raise awareness and understanding of malaria. The theme of World Malaria Day 2012 is “Sustain Gains, Save Lives: Invest in Malaria”. This theme reflects the fragile gains made towards eradicating the disease and the pressing need for continued investment in malaria prevention, diagnostics and treatment.

Spread the Net Student Challenge

Students across Canada have played a large role in the global effort to end malaria. This year the 2011-2012 Spread the Net Student Challenge has raised a remarkable $247,603.41 or funds to provide 24,760 bed nets to families living in Africa. Top fundraising schools appeared on The Rick Mercer Report.
